Hsinchu, Taiwan, November 17, 2009 - Wincomm develops WLP series all in one fanless panel PC for various industrial automation applications, such as factory & production shop floor control station, human machine interface (HMI) device, point of information (POI) terminal, building automation console, intelligent transportation system, computer or information kiosk…etc. All WLP panel PC are designed with rugged metal enclosure and can support fanless operation up to 40° C ambient temperature.

The WLP series includes many different size LCD panels, 6.5”, 10.4”, 12.1”, 15”, 17” and 19”. Low power & high performance processors are available with VIA Mark, C7, Intel Celeron M, Pentium M and Core Duo. For different touch usage, resistive, capacitive, surface acoustic wave and infrared touch panels are verified ready for integration.

Of all the products, 17” is a good form-factor with 1280x1024 high resolution and compact size. Wincomm has two 17” panel PC for industrial automation/kiosk applications, the entry model is WLP-7820-17 and WLP-7821-17 is more powerful and feature-rich.

The entry model WLP-7820-17 is powered by Intel Pentium M 1.8 GHz processor, 400 MHz FSB (Front Side Bus) and 1 GB single channel DDR-333 SODIMM memory. HDD anti-vibration bracket, watchdog timer AP and temperature monitoring AP further makes it a reliable product.

Wireless LAN is available with factory’s mini-PCI kit or user can choose off-the-shelf PCMCIA card. For interactive application, resistive touch integration is ready; for multimedia requirements, factory can integrate 2W x 2 speakers and a IP65 front bezel with speaker holes.

The WLP-7820-17 is slim with 73 mm thickness, with aluminum front bezel and SECC/heatsink-like rear cover design, this model can be configured as open frame or panel mount form-factor and is more suitable to be used as a device-integrated panel PC.
 

Wireless LAN is available with factory’s mini-PCI kit or off-the-shelf PCMCIA card. For basic video/multimedia application, extra optional module is designed-in to allow easy adding of USB 2.0 TV/video capture card and 2 W x 2 speakers. For touch panel integration, resistive, capacitive, surface acoustic wave and infrared all are verified ready for different touch requirements.
