Hsinchu, Taiwan, June 25, 2010 – Wincomm launches our latest digital signage player PC WPA-780 series, this metal box PC is compact, fanless, rugged designed and is ready to run most demanding full HD digital signage contents.

 Compact, fanless and due core processor
The WPA-780 series is very compact w/ only A4 size dimension (295 mm width x 200 mm depth) and 38 mm height. The rugged metal housing is specially designed with fin-like aluminum top and bottom cover along with ventilation holes on the left & right side covers to achieve best heat dissipation.
The WPA-780A is fanless design for up to 40-degree C operation and can support AMD Athlon 64 X2 3400e 1.8 GHz (dual core) and Athon 64 2600+ 1.6 GHz (single core) low power processors.
For more heavy loading applications, the WPA-780F is equipped with smart fan design (variable speed control, less than 30dB low noise fan) to run AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2 GHz and 3600+ 1.9 GHz dual core processors. The operating temperature can be up to 45-degree C.

Integrated full HD hardware decoder
The WPA-780 series is designed w/ AMD’s high-performance embedded platform solution featuring the AMD 780E & SB710 chipset. Integrated inside the 780E is ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics core with ATI Avivo HD technology to support DirectX 10.0, OpenGL 2.0 and UVD(Unified Video Decoder) 2.0.
The ATI UVD is a dedicated video decoding block that facilitates the full, bit-accurate decoding of MPEG-2, H.264/AVC MPEG-4 and VC-1 encoded HD video. This dedicated decoding hardware not only provides
 
efficient and high quality full HD video playback but also frees up significant CPU processing and associated power consumption.
